The Twisted Series by Ana Huang: Love, Friendship, and Soulmates

First off with some news; I am writing a book! that's right! a romance book! The tropes for the book are enemies to lovers, fake marriage, fake dating, marriage of convenience and slow burn. Yes! all the good tropes in one book, isn't that exciting! The book is still in works, you can follow me on instagram because that's where all the updates are posted regularly.

Now on to the second thing, I read a book series and it's the Twisted Series by Ana Huang, consisting of 4 books, Twisted Love, Twisted Games, Twisted Hate and Twisted Lies. The series revolves around a group of 4 friends; Ava, Bridget, Jules and Stella and how they find their soulmates.

Warning: These Books Contains Jealous/Possessive Antihero, Explicit Sexual Content, and Profanity and are 18+.

All books are in series but can be read as a standalones.

Twisted Love is a contemporary brother’s best friend/ best friend's sister /opposites attract standalone romance. It’s book one in the Twisted series. The first book is about Ava Chen and Alex Volkov.

Twisted Games is a contemporary royal bodyguard romance. It’s book two of the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone. It’s book two in the Twisted series. The second book is about Bridget Von Ascheberg and Rhys Larsen.

Twisted Hate is a contemporary enemies to lovers, sister's best friend/best friend's brother, enemies with benefits standalone romance. It's book three in the Twisted series. The third book is about Jules Ambrose and Josh Chen.

Twisted Lies is a contemporary fake dating standalone romance. It's book four in the Twisted series. The fourth book is about Stella Alonso and Christian Harper.

Individual Book Reviews:

1) Twisted Love

Oh my goodness, can we talk about Alex and Ava's chemistry?! The way Ava inadvertently orchestrated Alex's resignation from the company is pure queen behavior! I mean, her decision to maintain distance for over a year to make him understand the consequences of his betrayal? Iconic! And that climax? Total plot twist! Who would've thought Alex would double-cross both Josh and Ava? It's a good thing the surprise kept us on our toes – it just goes to show how deeply he cared for both of them. And let's not forget about Alex's friendship with Josh – it's absolutely adorable! Jules was such a gem too! Those side characters were the perfect complement to an already incredible story. I practically devoured this book in just a few hours, starting at 10 PM and wrapping up at 2 AM.

2) Twisted Games

Rhys and Bridget embody the classic Grumpy x Sunshine dynamic flawlessly! Rhys's possessiveness and protectiveness towards her? Utterly adorable! And don't even get me started on their chemistry – it was off-the-charts steamy! Though, I must admit, the plot dragged a bit in the beginning with the slow burn of their relationship, but once they finally got together, it was smooth sailing. Overall, I'm a sucker for a bodyguard-princess romance, and this one definitely hit the mark!

3) Twisted Hate

As soon as I finished the two books before this one, I knew I would love to see a Josh and Jules love story! They are so perfect for each other. Their transition from enemies to lovers is beautifully depicted. Watching Josh slowly develop feelings for Jules was captivating, and you could see him gradually falling for her. The ending, where Jules feared that Josh would be disappointed in her and he initially pretended not to be, only to actually feel disappointed later, was heartbreaking. When Alex made him realize that Jules loved him and that’s why she kept secrets (though it doesn’t justify her actions), it was a pivotal moment. The bonus epilogue is pure brilliance!

4) Twisted Lies

Oh my god! Where. Do. I. Start?

This book was so much more than I had expected! I mean I knew Christian would be one of my favourites since he appeared in the other books. I expected him to be Alex level of grumpy but he smiled and laughed at so many occasions and it was just adorable!

The slow burn was just so worth it. It was the build up that made the climax so much more fun. The moment they start the fake relationship with ‘let’s not fall in love’ you know they are in fact going to fall in love, those are the golden words any man speaks before he falls hard and fast and head first for the girl or visa versa.

There are so many good and funny moments with other characters from the previous book that make this series complete. I loved the dynamic between Rhys and Christian, the moment where Josh gets jealous of Christian and Alex’s friendship is EVERYTHING!

The backstory of both of them hit on the spot. I mean it was so emotional! Stella’s equation with her parents at the start was exhausting to read. But then Christian finally shut them up and how!

The part where Stella is posting little snippets of her (fake) relationship with Christian is so adorable! I mean where she posted a poll between her precious unicorn and him and then he grumbles about how her audience need better taste because he is wearing a designer suit is peak Christian behaviour. And then he calls her ‘my girl’ (my heart was melting!)

This romance was a tear jerking swooning heart melting romance and so much more!

“But I will always be here if you need me, no matter how far in distance or time. I don’t care if we’re on different continents or if it’s five, fifty years in the future. I never want you to wake up and feel like you’re alone because you’re not. You’ll always have me.”
