"You can run and you can hide, but Princess B, beware. Gossip Girl has eyes everywhere.- Gossip Girl" - quote from Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl was a show that ran for 6 seasons from 2007 to 2012. It had some memorable characters that gave us a small look into the fictional lives of the rich Upper East Sidders who was continuously stalked by a mysterious blogger aka Gossip Girl (I'm not telling who gossip girl actually was, that would be terrible to people who still haven't completed the series yet) anyway, Our very own Queen B or B or Princess B aka Blair Waldorf was played by Leighton Meester. Leighton did a wonderful job portraying the character of Blair Waldorf so well that the fans can't imagine someone else taking her place. But Leighton almost didn't get the role because she was naturally blonde and her character was supposed to be brunette. She had dyed her hair to get the part.

Blair has had some bitchy, amazing, vulnerable, princessy moments on the show throughout the 6 seasons. When Blair was first introduced I didn't like her much, I liked her when she is at the MET steps taking the 'kiss on the lips' party invites from Jenny Humphrey (played by Taylor Momsen) and when she tells Serena Van Der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively) aka her best friend that she isn't invited she proved she really is a bitch but that's what makes her so Blair!

spoilers ahead, read only if you reached at least season 5

Everyone hypes up Serena (the attention that our 'it girl' deserves) but Blair, I think is underrated. She dreams of herself as the main character in Audrey Hepburn movies for God's sake! nothing can be more iconic than that! Tbh, I like Blair with Dan Humphrey (played by Penn Badgley) more, I mean sure Chuck and Blair are amazing together and have amazing chemistry but I think Blair and Dan's chemistry is quite underrated. Moreover, I like Serena and Nate Archibald (played by Chace Crawford) together! Serenate all the way! But about them later. (Should I write about every Gossip Girl character (the mains)? let me know in the comment!!!)

Dan and Blair got closer as even frenemies in season 4. I think it's really cute to see Blair and Dan staying up at night and watching movies while talking on the phone. Rewatching it now gives a very 2020 Corona Quarantine vibes since all of us are watching movies with our friends on OTT platforms together via video calling and stuff.

As I rewatch the series again, I realize that Blair is no different that Georgina Sparks (played by Michelle Trachtenberg). Georgina is just portrayed as the villain since she creates problems for Serena. Well yes, I mean Blair hasn't drugged anyone and made them think they committed a crime but she might as just have since she has done things that could come close enough to everything Georgina has done. None of the Characters are innocent, the only person to be counted as innocent would be Nate Archibald, as he has never sent a tip to Gossip Girl that created a major problem in his friends life, he always has been a great friend to Dan. Okay, more on Nate later.

But Blair seems to do something good that negates her bad things like for example no matter what Blair has always been there for Chuck, Nate & Serena, even for Dan in the later seasons. Blair was a bitch, agreed, but a bitch I had come to love, over the series, Blair Waldorf had become my spirit animal. I loved the way she carries herself. It was around mid-season 5 she wasn't like Blair anymore, maybe because she was with Prince Louis. Honestly, even though he was fulfilling Blair's fantasy of becoming a Princess, he didn't deserve her. He kept doubting her, he never took a stand in her favour. But after he left, Blair felt like Blair was back.

I started loving Macaroons because Blair loved it! Talk about being influenced by fictional characters! DID YOU KNOW? Leighton Meester first auditioned for Serena but told producers she felt she was a better fit for Blair Waldorf. When Chace Crawford who played the role of Nate Archibald first met Leighton he couldn't imagine her as Blair Waldorf but when she had dyed her hair and was sitting in a chair with Blair's iconic headband and went into character, Crawford recalls thinking " That girl can act. She's the perfect girl for this."

swoons over his comment

But the point being Blair really is a Queen! As she has said before

"You need to be cold to be a queen"

XOXO, S
